The Summer School of Vacuum Technology 2026 will take place in hotel Kraví Hora in Bořetice on May 25 to 27, 2026
SUMMER SCHOOL FOCUS:
Mass spectrometry principles and methods of instrumentation
The program of the Summer School of Vacuum Technology 2026 (SSVT 2026) is scheduled from the afternoon on Monday May 25th until noon on Wednesday May 27th. The traditional company evening will take place on Tuesday as a part of the school. Same as last year, this year’s SSVT will be conducted in English to enable the participation of non-Czech-speaking attendees. Within the school, students will also have opportunity to briefly present and discuss the results of their own work with possibility to present one-page abstract in the Zpravodaj CVS journal.
The school will focus on mass spectrometry covering the physical principles of the method and its instrumentation. Applications of mass spectrometry across various fields will be illustrated through interesting examples. Individual topics will be presented by renowned experts. The school is designed to provide comprehensive information even to those who are new to the field.

Registration in Indico system HERE
Accommodation of participants in double rooms and their meals are provided from lunch on May 25 until lunch on May 27. Please indicate all the required services in the binding electronic registration form, which you can find at this webpage. It is mandatory to register and deliver proof of payment by April 20, 2026. After this date, the organizers cannot guarantee the availability of accommodation in the hotel or in the nearby area. Send confirmation of payment by email to the address of the CVS secretariat cvs@vakspol.cz.
The registration fee includes the school fee, meals and accommodation. The Summer School participation fee is:
- 2,500 CZK for individual CVS members and employees of organizational CVS members
- 1,600 CZK for students CVS members (with proof of student status)
- 2,000 CZK for other students
- 3,000 CZK for other participants
The registration fee also includes the proceedings.
Accommodation with breakfast will be arranged for each participants (1250 CZK/night) and meals will be provided (lunch 325 CZK, dinner 270 CZK) according to the registration form. The hotel offers vegetarian meals as well (please indicate this in the registration form).

Kraví Hora hotel:
Hotel Kraví Hora is located in the village of Bořetice. This wine-growing village lies in the very heart of the Modré Hory Mountains and the Hustopečsko Microregion. The village is situated in a gently rolling landscape at the foot of the Ždánický Forest. The Trkmanka River, locally called “Svodnica”, flows through it. By Car
The Brno-Břeclav-Bratislava motorway passes 5 km from the village and Bořetice is easily accessible by using when use EXIT 25 Hustopeče or EXIT 41 Podivín.
By bus
Bus service to Bořetice is working, you can use easy, save and cheap connection to our place. You can get in the bus in Brno, Hustopeče, Velké Pavlovice or in Břeclav.
By train
The village has a small railway station, situated on the railway number 255: Hodonín – Zaječí or Nr. 250: Brno-Břeclav + change to No. 255: Zaječí – Hodonín

Vacuum 🛰️
The International Space Station orbits the Earth at an altitude of about 400 km. It flies in an imperfect vacuum with a lot of residual atmosphere. This causes the station to experience low aerodynamic drag and must occasionally correct its orbit.
